DIFS Search Criteria for Active State-Chartered Banks and Savings Banks

The Banking Code of 1999 provides for the organization and operation of Michigan state-chartered banks. The Savings Bank Act of 1996 provides for the organization and operation of Michigan's state-chartered savings banks. Banks and Savings Banks are not subject to the provisions of Michigan's Business Corporation Act as they are banking corporations, not general corporations or limited liability companies. For purposes of this listing the banks are all state-chartered and currently operating. National banks, federal savings banks, and federal savings and loan associations are not listed.

You have the option of entering criteria that will assist you in finding the information you need. When you enter criteria for the Bank Name, Trust Powers, City, or Zip Code, a search will be made for all records that meet the criteria. If you do not enter criteria, a search will be made for all records.

Example: The letters ma are entered as criteria for the Bank Name. When the Submit button is clicked, a search will be made for all banks that contain the letters ma. This means you will see results where the Bank Name begins with ma or has the letters ma somewhere within the Bank Name.

If you are unable to find a particular Active State-Chartered Bank, please call our office toll free at 877-999-6442, and we will be glad to assist you.
